Your Chapter ID is the unique identification number assigned to your DECA chapter by DECA Inc. Each chapter receives one Chapter ID, and it remains the same from year to year.
You can find your Chapter ID by logging into the DECA Membership System at https://membership.decaregistration.com. If you need assistance locating your Chapter ID, please contact California DECA at [email protected].
The Chapter Affiliation Form must be completed by a DECA chapter advisor. Students should not complete or submit the form.
As part of the Chapter Affiliation process, you will complete a submission authentication step near the beginning of the form. At that point, a verification code will be sent to the Primary Chapter Advisor’s email address on file in the DECA Membership System.
If another advisor other than the Primary Chapter Advisor is completing the form, they will need to obtain the verification code from the Primary Chapter Advisor in order to complete the submission.
If you are a public school, enter your California CTE course codes (CALPADS course codes), not your local student scheduling or registration course numbers. These are often different. Entering the correct CALPADS course codes allows the California Department of Education to verify that your chapter meets the Career Technical Education (CTE) requirements for DECA Affiliation.
If you are a private school, you are not required to provide CALPADS course codes as part of the Chapter Affiliation process. You do still need to provide course titles.
After you submit your Chapter Affiliation, the California Department of Education will review your submission for completeness. Your Primary Chapter Advisor will be notified by email once the review process has been completed.
Yes. If you need to update information after submitting your affiliation, please contact California DECA at [email protected]. Note that some changes, such as a change in Primary Chapter Advisor or School Administrator, require a new Chapter Affiliation Agreement.
First, check your spam or junk folder. If you still don’t receive the verification email, confirm that the Primary Chapter Advisor email address entered on the form is correct. If you continue to experience issues, contact California DECA at [email protected].
If you are a public school, yes. All fields in the Chapter Grant Request section are required and must be completed. Please do not leave any fields blank, as incomplete grant information may delay the processing of your Chapter Affiliation or Chapter Grant request.
If you are a private school, no. Private schools are not eligible for California DECA Chapter Grant funding through the California Department of Education, so the Chapter Grant Request section is not required and may be skipped.
If you’re unsure of your California CTE (CALPADS) course codes, contact your school’s CTE coordinator, district CTE office, or the individual responsible for CALPADS reporting at your school or district. California DECA is unable to determine or assign CALPADS course codes for individual schools.
Yes. List every eligible CTE course from which you expect to affiliate DECA members during the current school year, not just one or two representative courses. This helps ensure your chapter affiliation accurately reflects your DECA program and enables the California Department of Education to verify that your chapter meets the CTE requirements for DECA Affiliation.
Yes. Every chapter must upload a completed Chapter Affiliation Agreement as part of the affiliation process. The Agreement must be completed for the current school year, printed, physically signed by both the Primary Chapter Advisor and the School Administrator, and uploaded before your chapter affiliation can be approved. A new Chapter Affiliation agreement is required if there is a change to the Primary Advisor or the School Administrator who signed the form previously.
No. The Chapter Affiliation Agreement must be physically signed by both the Primary Chapter Advisor and the School Administrator. Typed signatures, electronic signatures, and unsigned agreements are not accepted. Please print the Agreement, obtain both required signatures, and then scan and upload the signed document as part of your affiliation submission.
A new Chapter Affiliation Agreement must be submitted whenever there is a change in the Primary Chapter Advisor or the School Administrator. Please contact California DECA for assistance with updating your chapter records.
Yes. Your progress will be saved, allowing you to return later and complete your affiliation.
Welcome to California DECA! New chapters complete the same Chapter Affiliation Form as returning chapters. Since your chapter has not previously affiliated, your form will not contain pre-populated information. Please contact California DECA with assistance in identifying your Chapter ID. Once you have your Chapter ID please return to this form, complete all required sections, upload your signed Chapter Affiliation Agreement, and submit your affiliation for review.
